“‘I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God,'”-Acts 7:56
However, instead of the people listening to Stephen, they instead “covered their ears and, yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him, dragging him out of the city and began to stone him.” –Acts 7:57-58
But this didn’t defeat Stephen, for, while being stoned he prayed: “‘Lord Jesus, receive my spirit’ … ‘Lord, do not hold this sin against them.'” –Acts 59-60
Rather than being angry toward his stone-throwers, Stephen instead prayed for them. God will do the punishing; Stephen didn’t have to. And neither do we.
